He's rad, but not his best work. The music made the whole thing drag and come off unnaturally morose. For me, video of winching is just not really exciting. I get that the whole process is satisfying for the rider, but it just doesn't translate well in video imo. That toe wrapped kgb thing at the end though…
Winching is great. It takes wakeboarding places it has never been. It pulls it more towards snowboarding and skateboarding and less towards trickskiing. Anything that pulls wakeboarding in that direction is positive. Trevor killed it on this one.
A fair statement. I just don't have strong feelings about the need to pull wakeboarding in the direction of snowboarding or skateboarding. I imagine it maybe helps with sales, and I get that; but the now decade+ old debate over whether wakeboarding needs to or should legitimize itself to skate or snow…that I don't get. Had my first deep water start from a central Florida lake circa 1996, so I suppose I'm a purist at heart. I respect the effort and the creativity involved in winching. It's just not my bag. Trevor and basically everyone to ever be known for riding the Delta is rad. Period.
