Hi I have owned a 1996 Regal Rush XP120 jet boat since 2001.
Recently the control/shift cable broke. I ordered an Xtreme ccx66310 control cable and installed it through the thru hull connector into the engine area. While inspecting the thru hull connector fitting I noticed the nut was cracked. While moving the fitting slightly the fitting broke off into the boat which means the flange holding the fitting is inside the area near the pump.
I was able to find a new thru Hull connector but my problem is how do I get to the inside? Do I have to remove the engine? Will removal of the impeller screen and/or ride plate give me access to the inside thru hull connector fitting?
Do you have any drawings or schematics that illustrate the control cable from the gate, through the boat and up to the control box on the bulkhead?
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated! I would like to run this 22 year old boat as long as possible.
Thanks and Inlook forward to hearing from you.
Best regards!
