USA Water Ski is pleased to announce that the 2012 Centurion USA Wake Surf Nationals will be held June 29-July 1 on Lake Weir in Ocklawaha, Fla. Centurion Boats and Transition Watersports are teaming up to develop this premier wake surf competition as a qualifying event for the 2012 Centurion World Wake Surfing Championship, Sept. 27-29, in Parker, Ariz. The three-day national championships will feature many of the best riders in the world competing behind the highly acclaimed Centurion Enzo 244. Some of the riders currently planning to compete include Drew Daniello, Keenan Flegel, Dominic Lagacé , James Walker, Caroline Villeneuve and Jaqualine Fort. “Wake surf is a rapidly developing sport and clubs are forming in different parts of the United States,” said Bob Crowley, USA Water Ski executive director. “There are a number of USA Water Skisanctioned wake surf events on the horizon for 2012. We are pleased that we are able to sanction these events and provide all the benefits that come with sanctioning an event with USA Water Ski.” USA Water Ski was formed in 1939 as a non-profit organization promoting water skiing in the United States. USA Water Ski is affiliated with the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (world governing body) and is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and Pan-American Sports Organization as the national governing body of organized water skiing and wakeboarding in the United States.
