SAN DIEGO,  CA —  Rusty Wakesurf is pleased to partner with internationally recognized Austin Keen to expand their footprint in the wakesurf industry. Keen joins Rusty Wakesurf, a sister company to Rusty Surfboards, manufacturer of premiere surfboards throughout the globe, as the Chief Visionary Officer.

Austin Keen and Rusty Preisendorfer will work together to design high performance and premium quality wakesurf boards. Globally. As the Chief Visionary Officer, Austin is working with the Rusty design team and team riders to launch a new line of wakesurf boards including an Austin Keen (AK) line of boards.

Raised in Coastal Georgia, Austin grew up surfing along the southeastern seaboard and moved to California over 15 years ago. “There’s nothing more I love than riding a wave in the ocean- no matter the board. Every wakesurfer wants that feeling surfers get when riding waves in the ocean, and I’m absolutely stoked to work with Rusty to bring the ocean experience to the stern of the boat.” said Keen.

The Rusty line of wakesurf boards in collaboration with Austin Keen will cover all aspects of the sport Surf and Skim.

About AUSTIN KEEN 
Austin Keen (born May 30, 1990)[1] is an American World Champion skimboarder,[2] professional wakesurfer,[3] and lifestyle influencer.[4] Keen grew up on Tybee Island, Georgia,[5] learning to surf when he was 10 [6] before moving to Laguna Beach, California in 2007 to chase his dream of surfing better waves and skimboarding professionally. In 2013 he became a World Champion by winning the United Skim Tour Circuit.[7] In 2016 He went on to win the 40th Annual VIC World Championship of Skimboarding.[8] In 2015, he branched into wakesurfing, quickly making a name for himself for his viral stunts and antics behind boats which eventually landed him a sponsorship with the leading Wake boat manufacturer, MasterCraft Boats.[9] From there, Keen continues to use his platform as an action-sports athlete, documenting his adventurous lifestyle on his Youtube, Instagram, and TikTok. He won the 2018 and 2019 GoPro Million Dollar Challenge,[10]securing the cover photo of the 2018 final video.
