Amateur Traditional Divisions Kick Off The 2019 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships Presented by Rockstar Energy

WACO,TX (August 29, 2019) – Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the National Points Chase series and 30th anniversary of the World Wake Association (The WWA), the 2019 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy finally arrived to Waco, TX. Weeks of training and preparation gave away to the week of summer park competitors have been waiting for at one of wake’s most sought after cable park destinations. Amateur quarterfinal and semifinal rounds set the stage for friends, family, and wake park teams from across the nation to come together for a weekend of all things wake at BSR Cable Park.
Six divisions of Traditional Cable disciplines kicked off this thrilling weekend of competition with teams from across the nation filling the shoreline to cheer on their home team riders. Over twenty wake parks from across the nation were represented with riders competing for both individual National titles and team overall Points Chase titles. All riders participating in the 2019 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships will have the elite opportunity to represent the U.S. at the 2019 WWA Wake Park World Championships this October in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

The Amateur Wakeskate semifinal rounds kicked off the day with six riders moving on to Saturday’s final round. Hayden Chambless (HYD) took the win with an incredible run hitting all the features for a final score of 100.00 to start off day one of the competition. Aidan Stelzel (TSR) earned his second place finish with 88.00 points and a mute 180 off the kicker, followed by Anthony Khoury (HYD) in third with 73.50 points. Joining the crew in the final round of action, Grant Adams (TERM) took fourth with a 69.50, followed by Grady Burg (H9) with 69.00 points in fifth and Cole Clements (H9) in sixth with 5.00 points.
The top three riders from each quarterfinal heat advanced to the semifinals in the Beginner Traditional division with a total of six riders earning their spot in Saturday’s final round. In semifinal heat one, Lucas Baldwin (HYD) took the top spot with a score of 96.00 sticking a stalefish 180 off the kicker moving on to the final, along with Ike Phillips (TERM) with a score of 94.00. Heat two saw Campbell Scarborough (OWC) take the top spot with a score of 96.00 ahead of Gabe Briggs (NLR) with a score of 94.00 who will join him in the final round. Evan Cole (OWC) took win in semifinal heat three with a great run earning a score of 100.00, followed by Drew Prato (STWP) with 89.00 points to round out the final round.
