Boats & Pros – Mastercraft Xstar
Straight from the Gear Guide issue on stands now is the first of our special “Boats & Pros” section. We featured one boat and one team rider from each manufacturer. Said team rider did a photo shoot with his preferred board of choice and answered our extremely witty fill-in-the-blank questionnaire. Here is the Mastercraft XStar and wakeboarder Rusty Malinoski.

The MasterCraft XStar is my boat of choice because of its sick double ups, incredible looks and raw power . Plus my new all-black interior is the shit . The wake is so dialed in that I can do really cool maneuvers every time I ride. Seriously, it’s bigger than the mole on Ronda Rousey’s face… This boat’s spirit animal is a cheetah because it has sleek looks , speed and is totally ferocious .
I can fit all of my gear , coolers , and friends without anybody having to get inappropriate with each other.
Of course, you can’t talk about a boat as badass as this without mentioning the 500-plus ponies under the hood and the Batmobile-like looks and attitude . There’s an insane sound system in this boat, which means it’s louder than girls screaming at a Bieber concert . Whatever is on Parks’ playlist is my favorite style of DJ PB to blast through the system while I’m working on impressing Parks .
If you’re into boat surfing this thing will put out a wave that will barrel you with my expertise on wakesurfing while you freak out . Seriously it comes up to my shoulders and makes me feel like an expert . It’s all possible thanks to the Gen 2 system that does a lot of unique customization and general awesome making
I mean, just look at this thing. It’s got more style than a West Coaster , and is prettier than Harley .
The only thing I like better than this boat is going to the library and that’s because I’m a voracious reader .
