Wakeskating Icebergs in Cape Cod with Brian Grubb
Icebergs in Cape Cod? That’s right. This unusual weather phenomenon was a spectacle for most, but for Brian Grubb, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shred. After hearing about the ice, Grubb hopped on a plane, grabbed a winch, and hit the low tide where car-size giant mounds of ice made up a wakeskating playground. Check out some of the best action from his session!
Grubb also went on Fox News to talk about his time on the water/ice.

.. just my personal opinion, but wish the time and money that redbull supports him with, would get spent actually getting better at wake skating instead of just flying him out to ridiculous places so he can do an ollie and or a shuv. I think this is cool to just an average joe seeing it on youtube but are they really going to go out and try wake skating? If you want people to take the sport serious, especially skateboarders to take it serious, since that's what all wake skating tricks are basically revolved around, then put out some serious edits! But everyone has different motives….. I don't know about you guys, but I would rather land a trick I've never done regardless if there are cameras or not and be genuinely stoked, then go out and do tricks I've done hundreds of times and get famous for it.

^appealing to the average joe is exactly what needs to be happening. you can't expect a sport to grow when the only people who can relate to it or will think it's cool are the same people who are already involved in it. It's stuff like this that makes people want to try it. Not the same shit that you see in every other video

But the average joe will think that this is wakeskating… 100% down with what eh said, doesn't make sense for riders to say yes to these kinds of ideas. This looks like riders doing stunts and not actually shredding. This video is the same thing as Grubb in Bosnia. Way to push the sport.

I thought it was pretty sweet, Im not sure how many hard tricks I would do if the consequences where that cold of water.

The value to this is being missed completely. Focusing on what he did do, didn't do FK…is small. You can spend time smashing each others dicks back and forth all you want ( again, small ), the point is Grubb has global reach and brings a faction of wakeskating to the masses. There's no downside to that. Wakeskating is FKN smaller then speed sheep sheering, face'it. We have the right guys pushing the sport for the front line of progression and neither of them at this point care if someone in skate gives a'shit about what they do. Who the FK are you to represent the opinion of the average Joe you dumb'ass. Your shit is less then average. Keep up the good work…

Grubb has done so much for wakeskating . No other rider has put wakeskating out there as much as this guy. This man has dedicated his life by traveling everywhere for this sport to show people a climpse. Doesn't matter what tricks he does, what matters is the sport is getting love by different regions of the world. All you other haters can sit back and watch this man out it out on the map so the younger generation can make careers and do what he's doing it for….. The Love of being on your board!!! P.s old guy can still rip the boat better than you!

National television spot. Enough said. I get where eh is coming from, and to a certain extent agree, but again, national television. Even if its a shuv, it's bringing the sport to people that would not otherwise know it exists. He got to plug his sponsors on National television. He might have saved the Billabong wake program with his endorsement of their 5mm wetsuit. That might sound ridiculous, but its true. The big dogs want to know they're getting their money out of wake. When it doesnt make sense on the bottom line, they're out – i.e. quicksilver and arnette. When those companies abandon the sport, everyone loses. Respect to Grubb, Red Bull and anyone else that helped get this exposure.

Why doesn't Red Bull just sponsor better wakeskaters? Red Bull spends all this money on these elaborate trips/videos and all they get out of it is a shuv and maybe a shuv to indy. They could do all the same stuff their doing but with a better rider who will have more impressive riding.
In the Red Bull winch series they have on their youtube page they brought in Ben Horan for most of the episodes. Ben rides for Rockstar, but his riding made Grubb look weak in comparison. Ben even wore his Rockstar stuff the whole time. Red Bull should just step it up and support a rider or riders who represent the sport well but can also shred.
