2022 Velvet – Darkslide | Wakesurf Review

Soft top wake surfboards are quickly growing in popularity, and for 2022 Velvet has jumped on board with their Darkslide and Falcon models. The Darkslide was the first board we had a go at and from the start there were smiles on just about every face that rode it. This board rode as advertised; it felt like a longboard surfer but for the boat. This board was made for toes on the nose activities, so although airs might not be on the agenda, just staying in the wave while doing some light carving can be fun on this board. The soft tops offered plenty of grip but also gave peace of mind that these boards are going to stand the test of time. You don’t have to worry about dents or dings. This is just the type of a board that beginners and pros alike can value having in the boat.
