If you haven’t heard of Meagan Ethell before, you will soon. The teenage wakeboarder recently won the 56th Nautique Master’s as well as the best women’s trick. She’s just like the rest of us — she loves Adam Sandler movies, alternative rock and out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies — except that she’s 18 with a future so bright she’s gotta wear shades.

Ethell has been wakeboarding for nine years and got her first win in 2012 at the Nautique Wake Games. Read below for her answers to seven questions that will give you a better sense of what makes this rising star tick.
